Extra Credit - Geologic Time Scale |
Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Mississippian, Pennsylvanian, Permian, Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous, Paleocene, Eocene, Oligocene, Miocene, Pliocene, Pleistocene, Holocene
Here is a simple mnemonic, or saying, that can help a person remember the Geologic Time Scale (notice how the first letters of the saying match the first letters of the Geologic Time Scale):
Come on, see daring men play polo. That's just childish. Phooey, even old men play polo.
Your assignment is to create your own personalized limerick to help remember the Geologic Time Scale.
Due by 2 November 2004. Please turn these in electronically (jim.tyburczy@asu.edu) so they will be easeier to post. Please also in the page you turn in write out the real Geologic Time scale (Cambrian, Ordovician, .... etc) so you will begin to learn it.
